Our role is to accompany and support our clients in their Business Development and Construction projects in Canada – The Caribbean – Latin America.

We seek to build long-term relationships with our clients and partners and we encourage teamwork in creating a climate of trust and conviviality in the working place.

Our goal is to create a project team that will execute a final product of better quality whatever the project or the place; leaving behind us tangible results.

​Altor Canada inc. was founded in 2005 by Benoit to provide Pre-construction, Construction Management, Business Development and Owner’s Representative consulting services to National and International Developer / Builders in Canada, the Caribbean and in Latin America.

Altor is a Latin word which means "sustainer, provider, nourisher, who ensures subsistence" and it reflects our intention of being more involved in Sustainable Development and Construction Projects.

Benoit Pâquet, founder of Altor Canada has more than 30 years of experience in the Construction Industry and also in Business Development in Canada, the Caribbean and in Latin America.

Mr. Pâquet is fluent in English, Spanish and French and has basic knowledge of Portuguese and Italian

Mr. Pâquet has been involved in the following projects during his career:

Hotels – Resorts

  • Construction Director for the Owner/Developer of a Residential Development Project in the Caribbean including Villas, Condos, Boutique Hotel, Retail and Golf Course for a total budget of +/-USD $500M

  • Owner's Representative for the pre-construction and renovation projects for three historic hotels on the West Coast.

  • Pre-construction for a 5 stars hotel of 700 rooms + Conference Centre in the Caribbean.

  • Sandals Royal Hicacos - Varadero Cuba, hotel-resort of 404 suites composed of 31 residential buildings and 7 amenity buildings built on a 7.6 hectares lot. (Construction Management)

  • The Laguna Azul - Cayo Coco Cuba, a hotel-resort of 400 suites (Technical Assistance)

  • El Emperador - Cayo Coco Cuba, a hotel-resort 262 suites (Technical Assistance)

  • Development of a $ 20M USD hotel project in Mexico City in partnership with a Canadian pension fund.

  • Hotel Dufort - Montreal, 124 rooms hotel


Condominiums:

  • Residential Development Project of Villas and Condos in the Caribbean

  • King Edwards Village – Vancouver. 400 condo units and townhousesMixed-use project. 350,000 square feet of residential space + approx. 100,000 square feet of commercial space.

  • Park Renfrew - Vancouver (partial). 52 condo units with commercial space. Mixed-use project.

  • Héritage de l’île Paton – Montreal. 200 luxury condo units, including a full gymnasium, racquetball / squash courts, an indoor pool and an outdoor pool.


Commercial:

  • Senior Construction Manager for the Owner/Developer of the Tsawwassen Mills Projects in Vancouver area. This 1.4 million sqare feet commercial center project (130,000 m2) has 16 anchor tenants and a total of 200 commercial rental units. Approximately 8.4 kilometers of new roads and highway expansion were being built to accommodate this CAD $600 million investment.

  • Construction Manager for the International Broadcast Centre for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver This temporary facility 330,000 square feet ( 30,700 m2 ) was the broadcasting hub and central location for the television and radio studios for more than 100 right holding broadcasters for the Olympic Winter Games 2010 Vancouver.

  • Golden Eagle Blueberry Plant – Vancouver. Blueberry processing , freezing and storage plant. 160,000 square foot facility.

  • Television Studios of Music Plus ( Much Music ) Montreal

  • Maison des Coopérants and Promenade de la Cathédrale - Montreal a 35-storey Office Tower + multi-level shopping centre with underground connections to Montreal subway. A historic church was suspended above the excavation that spread over two main streets. Value $ 135 million. One million square feet of leasable area.

  • Montreal Trust Office Tower and shopping center - Montreal a 33-storey Office Tower connected to a multilevel shopping center with underground connections to Montreal subway. 1.1 million square feet of leasable area.

  • Tower Scotia Bank Phase I – Montreal. Partial demolition of an existing multilevel underground parking. The construction of new foundations and preparing for a new office tower.

  • Complex DuFort – Montreal. Mixed-use development of 650,000 square feet includes the Lasalle College , Hotel DuFort, office floors and retail spaces .

  • Pre-construction for renovation and expansion of the headquarters of the World Bank in Port -au- Prince, Haiti
